Home Grown
A lot about gardening is about patience and hope. A few years ago I purchased two Meyer Lemon trees. For years I waited patiently for results. Hoping for a harvest. After these years of waiting, I finally saw blooms. I waited as the blooms began to fall and small buds of mini fruit sprouted from the blooms. Watching and waiting. Gradually, they increased in size. But they decreased in number. Either falling off the branches or some critter was stealing them. But I waited. They started to turn this fabulous shade of yellow. Finally, these two ripened and I lovingly picked them from the branches. Excitedly, I brought them in and placed them on this blue plate. The colors were just too beautiful not to paint. So, I painted them. But I never got around to tasting them. It is several years now and I still have these two trees. But I have never gotten another lemon. I haven't given up hope. Every season I patiently watch for the blooms. Hope springs eternal.
I give you the painting of my lemons, Home Grown.
Thanks for connecting,
Cissy
